Die DreamHack kommt wieder nach Deutschland: In Hannover werden künftig Freaks 4U Gaming und die Deutsche Messe das Esport Festival veranstalten.
Am Dienstagnachmittag hat Freaks 4U Gaming bekannt gegeben, dass es künftig wieder ein DreamHack-Event in Deutschland geben wird. Zusammen mit der 'Deutsche Messe AG' wird das Esport Festival künftig in Hannover stattfinden und Ende 2022 sein Debüt feiern. Vom 15. bis 18 Dezember soll das Event erstmals auf dem Hannover Messegelände stattfinden.
Im Oktober 2021 gab die Messe Leipzig bekannt, dass die DreamHack künftig nicht mehr in der ostdeutschen Stadt stattfinden wird. Grund dafür war die Lizenzvergabe der ESL Meisterschaften in Deutschland und Frankreich sowie für die DreamHack-Events in den beiden Ländern an das Spandauer Unternehmen Freaks 4U Gaming.
Für das neue DreamHack-Event in Hannover ist der neue Lizenzhalter Freaks 4U eine mehrjährige Partnerschaft mit der Aktiengesellschaft 'Deutsche Messe' eingegangen, die ihren Sitz in Hannover hat. Gameswirtschaft.de berichtete bereits am Dienstagabend, dass mit der Bekanntgabe der DreamHack Hannover im Dezember die für Juni geplante "Esports Erlebnis-Plattform" mit dem Projektnamen "P1NG" entfällt und in dem DreamHack-Event mit einbezogen wird.
Eine Esport Messe in Leipzig könnte es aber dennoch zusätzlich noch geben, unabhängig von der DreamHack, Freaks 4U Gaming und der ESL. Das teasert zumindest die Leipziger Messe regelmäßig auf Twitter an.
In der Pressemitteilung zu dem Event wird noch nicht genau verraten welche Spiele und Aktivitäten es bei der DreamHack Hannover geben wird. Angekündigt wurden lediglich eine LAN-Area, Cosplay-Wettbewerbe, Auftritt von Influencern und ein Messebereich. Livemusik und Esport-Turnier werden aber ebenfalls ein integraler Bestandteil des Programms sein.
Ein Counter-Strike-Turnier mit internationalen Spitzenteams wie einst in Leipzig ist auf der DreamHack Hannover ist allerdings eher unwahrscheinlich. In der ESL-Roadmap zur ESL Pro Tour 2022 ist für Dezember aktuell kein ESL Challenger-Turnier vorgesehen. Allerdings war auch die DreamHack Hannover in der ursprünglichen Bekanntgabe der DreamHack-Events nicht dabei, somit ist möglicherweise auch hier eine späte Änderung noch möglich.
