Christian "crisby" Schmitt ist künftig Coach des neuen OG Academy-Teams.
Nach vier Monaten als Coach des nordamerikanischen Team Strife Esports geht es für Christian "crisby" Schmitt in Zukunft bei OG Esports weiter. Das gab die dänische Organisation am Donnerstagnachmittag auf Twitter bekannt. Dort wird der 31-Jährige in Zukunft als Coach des neuen Academy-Teams fungieren. Bereits im Februar hatte OG Pläne zu einem Academy-Projekt bekannt gegeben, bislang herrscht dazu aber wieder Funkstille.
Bereits im Januar hatte sich OG mit dem ehemaligen Unicorns of Love-Coach Alexander "kakafu" Szymanczyk als Assistant Coach des Main-Team verstärkt. Mit crisby kommt nun ein weiterer Bestandteil des ehemaligen UoL-Teams zu OG.
First of all, I’m really happy and grateful for getting the opportunity to work for such a world class organization on their academy project to develop players for the future. I also want to thank Strife for giving me the opportunity as a coach. While it was my first experience in that role, I gained the knowledge I believe will help as set the foundation in my new well as the new home that is OG.

Während seiner Zeit als Coach von Strife Esports schaffte das Team unter anderem das Fragadelphia LAN-Event zu gewinnen. Zwischenzeitlich schafften es die Nordamerika sogar unter die Top-50 der HLTV-Weltrangliste. Gleichzeitig spielte er auch noch mit den PARTYDADDLERS in der ESL Meisterschaft by 99Damage und verpasste nur knapp die Playoffs-Teilnahme.
Als Counter-Strike-Spieler machte sich crisby bereits früh einen Namen und spielte sowohl Counter-Strike 1.6, Source und Global Offensive. Von Team ALTERNATE (später ALTERNATE aTTaX) über PENTA Sports, EURONICS Gaming und zuletzt Unicorns of Love spielte crisby in zahlreichen namhaften deutschen Teams.
Two months ago we announced the academy project, and a key focus ever since was finding the right person to lead the endeavor. I believe that Christian’s decade of experience as both a player and coach will bring a strong development mindset and structure to the team. I’m grateful to have Christian join our staff, and look forward to seeing us grow the next generation of talent in the ecosystem.
